Fourth seed Francisco Cerundolo will be out for revenge in the quarter finals of the indoor hard court Almaty Open. He takes on unseeded Alexander Shevchenko who beat him in the recent Shanghai Masters. Here's our match prediction.
Cerundolo is the world number 31 but a couple of places higher in the live list. The Argentinian lost in straight sets to Shevchenko in Shanghai but there were 25 games played in that hard court match.
He has been struggling for consistency in recent months with his best win being a victory over Casper Ruud in the Laver Cup. July saw him win the Umag clay court tournament but a win here will take him into his first ATP Tour hard court quarter final of the year.

Alexander Shevchenko is up to 58th in the live rankings but was a career-high 45th in February. This tournament is being played in Kazakhstan so Shevchenko will have the home fans cheering him on.
In the first round, he beat Mikhail Kukushkin (also from Kazakhstan) in straight sets. It was a tight match though with both sets being determined by a tie-break. The 23-year-old is attempting to reach his third ATP Tour hard court quarter final of 2024.
