The 2025-26 A-League men will kick off with matchday one, featuring two teams that underwhelmed last season – Adelaide United and Sydney FC. This match at the Hindmarsh Stadium on Friday comes with our prediction of over 3.5 goals.
The Reds finished sixth last year in the regular season (W10, D8, L8), qualifying for the Finals series but losing in the first knockout match. The Sky Blues finished seventh with 37 points (W10, D7, L9) and missed out on the Finals series.
Adelaide were the champions just once in their history in 2016, while they won the Premier twice, the last being the 2015-16 season. With Airton Andrioli at the helm, the Reds will hope to turn things around, but a lot will depend on striker Craig Goodwin.
