Which TV channel to watch the 2023 Rugby World Cup on?

A Feast of World Cup Rugby in September and October
Every four years there is a treat for rugby union fans all over the world. The top countries from around the globe gather to compete in the Rugby World Cup. Countries such as defending champions South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, hosts France, England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales will all be battling it out to become the 2023 world champions.
If you're a massive rugby fan but can't make it to France to watch the matches, you'll be eager to watch all the action on television. There's going to be a great amount of coverage for over a month with the first match taking place on September 8. It's a longer tournament than usual with teams having five days between matches. The Final takes place on October 28 and is bound to be seen by a massive global television audience.
In this article we look at what channels you need to access in the UK, South Africa and the US to watch the games and there will also be some details of Sportytrader's coverage too.
ITV To Show 2023 Rugby World Cup in UK
If you are in the UK and want to watch the 2023 Rugby World Cup, then it's ITV that you need to be tuning into. Whereas the football World Cup held last year was available to watch on both the BBC and ITV, that's not the case with this important tournament.
It was ITV who won the exclusive broadcasting rights to show the games being played in September and October. There will be radio coverage on the BBC but to actually see the games, it's ITV where you need to be heading. The betting odds indicate we're going to be in for a fantastic tournament.
It's certainly going to be a feast of rugby union with 48 matches being given live coverage by ITV. That would have caused massive disruption to schedules in the past. Now however, ITV has several channels on which they can show the rugby matches. The excellent news is that you don't need to be paying any subscriptions to ITV to be able to watch all the coverage.
Games will be shown live on ITV1, ITV4 and ITVX. Friday to Sunday iis going to be an exciting time for rugby fans. There will be 38 games shown on ITV1 on those days.
ITVX is the onlne streaming channel that was launched just before the 2022 World Cup. It's ideal to watch the live games but you'll also be able to catch up on other matches in the tournament if you missed them.
One big bonus with the 2023 Rugby World Cup is that it is being held in France. That's ideal for UK viewers and much better than those early hour games when the tournament is held in Australia or New Zealand. The Friday matches will be shown at 17:00 and 20:00 UK time. Half of the matches that are being shown live by ITV will start at 20:00 UK time with another ten at that time on ITV4. Therefore, get yourself comfortable, have the food and drink ready and enjoy a great night of rugby.

There will of course be massive interest in South Africa during the 2023 Rugby World Cup. 2019 saw the Springboks lift the trophy when beating England in the final. That was the third time that the South Africans have won the Rugby World Cup. Can they make it four in France?
Those in Souh Africa who just can't get enough of rugby union will be keen to follow all the action. To do so they need to watch the SuperSport channel. This can be accessed on the DStv and Canal+ satellite platforms. It's not just South African viewers who can watch the channel, those in Nigeria and several other countries in Africa can tune in to watch the 2023 Rugby World Cup.
USA Not Wanting to Feel Left Out
There's no North American countries in the 2023 Rugby World Cup and that's never happened before. That means no USA or Canada but there will still be plenty of interest in what is going on in France. American viewers can watch the action on NBC Sports. That's one of the top stations in the USA so fans can be guaranteed some excellent coverage.
