The title race in the 2025/26 Serie A season is heating up with only four points separating the top four teams in Round 20. And Saturday night football promises a blockbuster as first-placed Inter Milan must defend their spot at home against reigning champions Napoli, who occupy the fourth position. Can the Nerazzurri get revenge after the 3-1 loss earlier this season, or are Partenopei on track for their fifth title win?

Can Inter Milan Extend Perfect Streak Against Bitter Rivals?

Inter Milan is back at the helm of Serie A after winning six straight league games. And while only four points separate them from the top four teams, The Black and Blues have been arguably the best team so far.

Inter have won 14 of 18 games (the most) and have yet to share a point, having lost all remaining four games (the third joint-fewest). Even more impressive are the whopping 40 goals they've scored in 18 games (2.2 per game), which is 11 more than the team with the second-highest (AC Milan).

Also, with only 15 goals conceded all season, The Nerazzurri are playing like champions and are now the top betting sites’ favorites to win the 2025/26 Serie A league title.

However, the men in blue from Naples stand in their way in Round 20. Napoli are responsible for three of the 15 goals Inter have conceded and one of their only four losses. Just like last season, Partenopei threatens Inter’s 21st Serie A title-winning chances as they plot to win it themselves.

Despite what the betting odds suggest, it's an incredibly difficult game for the host who hasn't beaten this opponent in the league since 2023. For anyone looking to bet on this game, see our expert's insights in the Inter vs Napoli prediction first!

Napoli Eyes First Back-to-Back Serie A Title Win in Club History

With only four points off the top, Napoli are still in the title race, and you can expect them to play as such on Saturday.

Even without several key players, Napoli has still impressed in recent outings. They fought long and hard for a late second-half comeback against Hellas Verona in their latest 2-2 draw.

And that marked six games unbeaten in their last seven, with five draws recorded. You can only be impressed considering Partenopei are without Kevin De Bruyne, Romelu Lukaku, Frank Anguissa, David Neres, and Billy Gilmour.

However, that might finally bite them in the Inter clash as all those players (excluding Lukaku) featured in their 3-1 win in October. Both De Bruyne and Anguissa bagged goals in that game, while Neres assisted the final goal.

Still, a defeat isn't on the cards for Antonio Conte’s men. They've sent Inter without a win in their last four meetings, and walked away with a 1-1 draw in their last two at Milan’s home.

Even if they don't win, a draw might be enough to keep Inter’s lead at the top within reach, while building momentum for their own title defence. And if they do manage a win, Napoli just might go on to win their fifth league title and a back-to-back Serie A title for the first time in its history.
