Chelsea - The Blues are effortlessly breaking the bank
Chelsea have not been playing it quietly in the summer transfer window as the West London outfit aims to strengthen their squad and fill the gaps in key areas after last season's disappointing tenth-place finish.
No club has spent more than Chelsea so far this summer, with a reported £294 million invested in the transfer market so far. The Blues have added ten new players to their squad ahead of the 2026-27 Premier League season, with their biggest signing being Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa, with the club spending around £117 million to secure the 24-year-old's signature on a seven-year contract.
Another addition to the club and the second-biggest signing is Crystal Palace's Maxence Lacroix. The formidable one-on-one defender enjoyed two successful seasons with his former club and helped the team win the FA Cup in 2025. His expertise in this current field

Tottenham - The chasing pack in the summer transfer window
Trailing Chelsea in terms of the investment made so far in the transfer market is Tottenham Hotspur, who are seeking to reshape their squad and return to challenging among the Premier League's elite. At the time of writing, the North London outfit has spent £228.75m in the transfer market.
Spurs also endured a difficult 2025-26 Premier League season and risked being relegated from the top flight after finishing 17th in the standings and two points ahead of the relegation zone.
A total of 19 players have been moved on, either released, sent out on loan, or sold. However, there has been no shortage of space for new arrivals, with the club bringing in seven new players who'll be capable of competing under the new direction of Roberto De Zerbi.
Their record signing has been Sandro Tonali from Newcastle United for a club record £100m. The 26-year-old brings not only a wealth of experience but a strong winning mentality that could be crucial to Tottenham's rebuild.
Another signing making the rounds in North London is Mateus Fernandes, whose £85m fee is the club's second transfer record since getting Dominic Solanke's signature from Bournemouth for £65m two years back. The midfielder attracted interest from several top clubs, with Manchester United determined to sign him before Spurs secured his services.

Manchester City - The Citizens breaking records for signatures
Manchester City have spent approximately £150m in the transfer market but have secured only four players so far in a bid to strengthen their squad.
Elliot Anderson, who recently played for Nottingham Forest, has been City's biggest signing. Anderson has joined City for a reported fee of £116m and is the most expensive British player transferred in history.
Jude Bellingham was at the top of the list following his move from Borussia Dortmund to Real Madrid for £115m in 2023.
The Citizens also showed interest in Leicester City's Jeremy Monga, with the youngster putting pen to paper on a five-year deal after a transfer fee of £10m plus add-ons. It must be pointed out that the 17-year-old winger is the third-youngest player to play in the Premier League.
