Club Brugge have been a regular in the UEFA Champions League and are appearing in the group stage/league phase for the 12th time after seeing off the threat of Rangers FC in the two-legged play-offs.
We can't ignore the fact that this is also their second consecutive appearance in this tournament after finishing 24th in the league phase and being eliminated in the Round of 16 against Aston Villa, losing 6-1 on aggregate.
Monaco are out to regain their status among the continent's best as they are making their second consecutive appearance in the UEFA Champions League group stage/league phase.
In the previous edition, Monaco couldn't reach the Round of 16 after a 4-3 aggregate defeat against Benfica in the knockout phase play-offs.
