20th seed Ekaterina Alexandrova is in the third round at Roland Garros for the fourth time. The Russian is yet to get past this stage and takes on compatriot Veronika Kudermetova in the last 32 of this outdoor clay court tournament. Here's our match prediction.

30-year-old Alexandrova has made smooth progress so far in this tournament. Both of her wins against unseeded Italians Lucia Bronzetti and Elisabetta Cocciaretto were won in straight sets with only nine games lost. Alexandrova is now 19th in the live rankings.

That's taken her record for this year's clay court season to ten wins and three losses. It's a massive improvement on her 1-7 record last year. Semi-finals have been reached in both Stuttgart and Charleston. 

Veronika Kudermetova made it to the last eight at Roland Garros in 2022. This year has seen her fail to get past the third round of a clay court tournament. This stage was also reached in Rome and Madrid.

The 28-year-old has shared her six previous matches against Alexandrova. On clay, Kudermetova leads 1-0 but that was played six years ago.

This week has seen her defeat Vikoriya Tomova and the 15th seed Barbora Krejcikova for the loss of nine games and is 39th in the live rankings.
