Friday’s afternoon session at the 2025 World Cup of Darts in Frankfurt will see the United States go up against Bahrain. The US is the number 13 seed in the competition, while Bahrain is unseeded. Let’s get into the match prediction.
The United States were yet another seeded nation that suffered an opening round defeat at the 2025 World Cup, losing to Man Lok Leung and Lok Yin Lee of Hong Kong 4-1 in their first match.
In fairness, the Hong Kong duo were deserved winners, as they outscored the Americans 77.49 to 72.13, which allowed them 12 attempts to close legs compared to their opponent two at double.
The US pairing failed to record a single 180 in their opening match and pinned just one of their two checkout attempts - a double 16 - while their opponents claimed a highest checkout of 106.
Meanwhile, Bahrain are set to make their first appearance at the 2025 World Cup on Friday and their third in the competition, though they have not gotten beyond the group stage in their two previous attempts.
Stalwart Bassim Mahmood was dropped by the nation this year, with an all-new pairing of Sadiq Dasmal and Hassan Bucheeri now ready to make their World Cup debuts.
These two nations have never met in competition in the past, and Bahrain have never won a match at the tournament, with their best effort being a 4-3 loss to the Czech Republic last year.
