Smarting from a shock loss, Borussia Dortmund will seek a return to winning ways when they travel to Union Berlin. Hosts Union Berlin are three places above the relegation zone and face a Dortmund side hanging onto a top four spot. After 23 matches, 14th placed Union Berlin have managed 25 points, that is seven ahead of 16th placed Cologne. Union have had a somewhat stable run in recent times, coming into this encounter unbeaten in four matches. They have two wins in their last four matches but the last time they faced a top five side, they lost 2-0 to Leipzig. A huge chunk of their points in recent times have come in home matches. Union Berlin haven't lost a league game at home in six straight outings. They have four wins and two draws in that run. This fixture hasn’t really favored them over the years but the last time they hosted it, they won 2-0. Union have suffered losses in the last two meetings with Dortmund.

Borussia Dortmund have beaten Union Berlin five times in their last six meetings. This run should give them confidence as they head into another game against Die Eisernen. However, in their last four visits to An der Alten Försterei, they suffered three defeats. This will not be an easy encounter for them especially as they come on a shaky footing. Dortmund’s last outing ended in a shock 3-2 loss to Hoffenheim at home. This left them with just a win in five matches and mounted pressure on them in the top four race. Die Schwarzgelben are just a point ahead of fifth placed Leipzig and face a real battle for a top four finish.
