Thasaporn Naklo vs Yulia Putintseva Prediction & Betting Tips - Thailand Open

Seventh seed Yulia Putintseva and the wildcard Thasaporn Naklo will face off in the first round of the Thailand Open. The winner will then set up a second-round showdown with either Viktorija Golubic or Laura Pigossi. Thasaporn Naklo is making her main draw debut at this event. She will hope support from the home crowd propels her to a deep run in the competition. The Thai player isn’t that experienced at tour level and has primarily competed in the ITF Circuit where she has won three titles. Naklo has had a slow start to the year and has so far lost three of the five matches she has contested. She is coming off a qualifying round exit in Gwalior in the ITF. Despite her inconsistent start to the year, Naklo has moved up six places in the live ranking. She is now ranked 406th which is a new career high for her.

Yulia Putintseva lost in the first round here last season in what was her debut. This will be extra motivation in wanting to make a winning start to the competition. Putintseva has had a better start to the year but just like Naklo, she has been plagued by inconsistencies. The Kazakh has won four of seven matches so far and has lost her last two outings. All four of her victories came in Hobart where she rose from the qualifiers to make the quarterfinals. The 29-year-old lost in the first round at the Australian Open last time out. Last season, Putintseva had one of her best tour campaigns in terms of matches won. She won 34 matches and played in at least the quarterfinals in five tournaments. This allowed her to get back into the WTA top 50. She has however dropped right back out again and is currently ranked 70th in the world.
