Tanzania faces Morocco in the African Nations Championship (Chan) quarter-finals in what will pass as the co-hosts’ toughest test. This is the reward the Taifa Stars got for topping Group B, while Morocco finished second in Group A. Read on for our prediction of this match.
Tanzania had a fine run in the group stage, making it to the Chan knockouts for the first time in their history. They managed 10 points from a possible 12, and here they seek a big scalp, facing one of the most successful nations in Chan.
The host nation carries a seven-match unbeaten run into this game.
Morocco suffered a shock defeat against other Chan hosts, Kenya, in their group matches. Against 10-man Harambee Stars, they fell 1-0 in Nairobi. Now switching to Dar es Salaam, Morocco will be confident of progression, having beaten Tanzania in each of their last four meetings.
The North Africans will also be banking on a scoring run that reads eight goals from the opening four matches. Only Uganda have matched that tally of goals after four matches.
