Sixth seed Tallon Griekspoor takes on unseeded Miomir Kecmanovic in round one of the Libema Open. Griekspoor is the defending champion in this outdoor grass court tournament after beating Jordan Thompson in the 2023 final. This event is being played in the Netherlands so the Dutchman will have the home crowd cheering him on. He does tend to do well in tournaments held in his home country and made it to the last four in Rotterdam earlier this year. Griekspoor is 23rd in the live rankings and 32nd in the ATP Race. His clay court season ended with a run to round three at Roland Garros where he took Alexander Zverev to five sets. The 27-year-old had to win five matches last year to win this title. That included beating Alex de Minaur who is the top seed this year. He's never made it past the second round at Wimbledon but did also get to the last eight of the Halle grass court tournament last year.

Miomir Kecmanovc is 53rd in the live rankings but seven places higher in the Live Race. He lost in the second round at Roland Garros, losing the frst set to Daniil Medvedev 6-1 and then retiring in the second set when 5-0 down. That ended his clay court season and he'll hope for better results on grass. He reached the third round at Wimbledon two years ago but lost in his first match last year. It's five years since his only grass court final in Turkey. In last year's Libema Open, he lost in the first round to Milos Raonic but did get to the last eight in Eastbourne.
