Sporting Lisbon will attempt to close out their Europa League playoff tie with Young Boys when they host the return match. They lead the tie 3-1 after winning the first-leg match a week ago. Sporting are in red-hot form at the moment and will be confident of getting the job done here. The Portuguese giants have won their last five fixtures with the latest victory being a 2-0 success over Moreirense. The win allowed them to maintain their lead atop the Primeira Liga. Sporting made the Europa League quarter-finals last season and will be out to, at the very least, achieve this feat again. Ruben Amorim’s men can lose here and still go through but not by two clear goals.

Young Boys bounced back from that first leg loss by defeating Stade Ls Ouchy in the Swiss topflight. They won 2-0 to maintain their lead atop the league standings. Raphael Wicky’s men will hope for the same outcome here and avoid seeing their European campaign come to an end. Young Boys, who are in this stage after dropping from the Champions League, have to win by three clear goals to go through. Winning by two goals will force extra time and possibly penalties. A victory by three goals however will see them progress after the conclusion of regulation time. Young Boys have only once played in the round of 16 proper in the Europa League in their history. If they progress from this tie it will be their second ever time in the second round.
