With just two games of the League of Ireland Premier Division to go, Sligo Rovers face Cork City with their fate very much in their own hands. The Showground will be busy as the Bit O'Red fans seek three points to help them avoid the dreaded relegation playoff against the already-relegated Rebel Army. Here's our prediction for this penultimate game of the season.

Cork City are bottom of the table and already relegated with just 23 points from their 34 games. For Sligo Rovers, it is a much more tense affair. They are tied on 37 points from 34 games alongside Galway City and Waterford, with the latter in the relegation playoff place on goal difference. They have a seven-worse goal difference to Galway, but a six-better goal difference to Waterford.

Sligo's recent form, especially at home, is not too bad. They beat St Patrick's Athletic 1-0 at the end of September, but in the two league games since were beaten 1-0 at Derry City and then 3-1 at Shelbourne. On a positive note, they have lost just one of their last five at home.

Cork's miserable season saw them confirmed as relegated a couple of weeks ago. They do have an FAI Cup Final to look forward to (against Shamrock) but in the league they have picked up just one point from their last eleven away games (D1, L10). That includes losing 2-1 at Galway, 2-1 at home to Shelbourne and then most recently 1-0 away to Drogheda.
