John Russell's Sligo Rovers welcome Alan Reynold's Bohemian F.C. to The Showgrounds this Saturday evening, with plenty at stake for both teams at each end of the table. For The Bit O'Red, this is a chance to increase the gap on bottom-club Cork City below them, and for The Bohs, they could claw back some of the seven-point deficit they trail leaders Shamrock Rovers by. Sligo Rovers had enjoyed their best run of the season until recently, a five game unbeaten streak was ended by a 2-0 defeat at home to Shelbourne and then a 3-0 away defeat to St Patrick's Athletic. Last weekend, Sligo did record a 2-1 win away at Waterford and they also managed to knock Bohemians out of the FAI Cup earlier in August, winning 1-0 away against todays opponents. They lie 9th out of the 10-team Irish league with 29 points from 28 games.

If Bohemians are to claw back the deficit to Shamrock at the top of the table, they need to start picking up wins. Four draws and one defeat in their last seven have seen Shamrock open up a seven-point gap over the Bohs. This is a must-win game for the visitors but the positive news is that they did win on their last visit here 1-0 back in May. They come into this game on the back of a 2-2 draw at Shelbourne and last weekend, they beat Cork City 3-0. They sit second in the table at present.
