One of the standout matches in round two of the 2025 World Cup of Darts sees Scotland set to take on the Netherlands on Saturday. Scotland is the number three seed, while the Netherlands is seeded fifth. Let’s get into the match prediction. 

Barring England facing Germany, this is the only second-round match that features two seeded nations facing each other, and it will also mark Scotland’s entry into the competition. 

The Scots are represented by the experienced pairing of Peter Wright and Gary Anderson, who reached the semi-final of this tournament last year and ended as runners-up in 2023. 

Scotland have an all-time World Cup record of 32-12, a period during which they beat the Dutch in two of their three previous encounters in this competition. 

Meanwhile, there were plenty of concerns over how the Netherlands would fare in the World Cup after Michael van Gerwen withdrew and was replaced by up-and-coming Gian van Veen. 

However, the 23-year-old has done excellently alongside veteran Danny Noppert, coming through the group stage with two perfect results, beating Italy and Hungary 4-0 each. 

While the Dutch duo failed to record a 180 in their last match, they did throw two against Italy, while averaging 95.43 and pinning 66.67 of their checkout attempts.
