Sixth seed Jack Draper faces unseeded Rudolf Molleker in round two of the BMW Open. The winner goes into the last eight of this clay court tournament and will take on either third seed Taylor Fritz or qualifier Alejandro Moro Canas. Draper is up to 42nd in the live rankings after he beat unseeded Vit Kopriva in round one. It looked like being a straightforward match after the Brit won the first set for the loss of only one game. He then dropped the second set but won the decider 6-4. Draper is closing in on his career high of 37th but needs to be more consistent on clay. He lost to Hubert Hurkacz in Monte Carlo but did take him to three sets. Only once has he played at Roland Garros but lost in the first round last year.

Rudolf Molleker is up to 167th in the live rankings, still 21 places below his career high. Round one of this ATP 250 tournament saw him beat qualifier Francesco Passaro in straight sets, losing just six games. This is the first time in 2024 that Molleker is playing in the main draw of an ATP Tour event. He has had some success on the Challenger Tour this year with a couple of hard court quarter-finals reached. Now he's going well on clay overcoming the recent disappointment of failing to qualify for the Marrakech main draw. 2022 and 2023 saw him win over 80 matches and land five titles. That was on lower level tours though. We tip Draper to win this match.
