The grand final of the 2024-25 CAF Confederation Cup will kick-start with the first leg to be played on Saturday between Moroccan club RS Berkane and Tanzania’s Simba SC. This is the first leg of the final between the hosting Orange Boys and the visiting Reds of Msimbazi to be played at the Stade Municipal de Berkane and comes with our prediction of a win for the home team.
Berkane are in their fifth final of the CAF Confederation Cup and are looking to do one better than last season and win their third title. Simba are in their maiden final appearance of the competition.
Berkane topped Group B with an unbeaten record (W5, D1) before brushing aside Mimosas (2-0 aggregate) in the quarters and CS Constantine (4-1 aggregate) in the semi-finals.
The biggest advantage for the Moroccan side is their home form, having never lost a home fixture in this competition!
Simba are coming off four consecutive wins in their domestic competition but will have to improve on their continental form. They topped Group A with 13 points (W4, D1, L1) before prevailing over Al Masry (via penalties) in the quarters and Stellenbosch (1-0 aggregate) in the semi-finals.
It’s their away form that’s of concern, as the visitors have lost five of their last nine trips in this competition.
