Real Madrid are second in La Liga but could be five points behind leaders Girona before this game against eighth placed Valencia begins. Girona are at Rayo Vallecano earlier in the day and are already two points ahead of Real Madrid. This game sees Real trying to win their tenth La Liga match of the season. Nine out of 12 have so far been won and they've gone six games unbeaten in La Liga since an away loss to Atletico Madrid. They won 3-0 at home against Braga in their midweek Champions League game. Real have won eight of their last ten home La Liga fixtures and kept a clean sheet in the last three. Their last five home league games against Valencia have all been won with just one goal conceded.

Valencia begin the weekend outside of the European competition qualifying positions. They are only a couple of points behind the Europa Conference League positions but seven adrift of the top four. Valencia are unbeaten in their last four league games but recent wins have come against sides currently in the bottom five. Their away form has seen them only win one of their six La Liga games this season. That was a win at struggling Sevilla but since that victory only three points have been earned from five on the road. Their most recent league fixture saw them beat Granada 1-0 at home but needed a penalty to get the victory. This is obviously a much tougher task tor them and we back Real Madrid to win and lead at half and full time.
