Rangers will continue their quest for UEFA Champions League group action for the first time since 2022-23 as they play Viktoria Plzen in the 2025-26 third qualifying round. The first leg will be played at the Ibrox Stadium on Tuesday, and our prediction is for the Gers and Plzen to both score goals. The winner of this two-legged tie will proceed to the playoff round and will be unseeded. The loser of the tie will be transferred to the league phase of the Europa League.
Rangers started their campaign this year in the second qualifying round, where they defeated Panathinaikos 3-1 on aggregate. Plzen also started in the second round, defeating Servette 3-2 by aggregate.
The hosts started their league campaign with a 1-1 away draw at Motherwell at the weekend. It was a third draw in a row, including a 1-1 home result against Panathinaikos in the previous round.
Five of Rangers' last six matches, including friends, have ended in draws, so that could be an interesting choice for risk takers!
