Rangers FC and Aberdeen will exchange blows at Ibrox Stadium on matchday 17 of the Scottish Premiership. Rangers are second in the league standings, while Aberdeen are fourth and two points behind third-placed Dundee United. Here's our match prediction.

Rangers have dropped six points from a possible 15 in their last five league matches. They have won two and drawn three during this run, but that hasn't helped much in their title-chasing cause this season as they are 15 points behind the top spot. 

The Gers eased the pressure on head coach Philippe Clement following a 3-1 home victory over bottom-placed St. Johnstone on Sunday. This result halted a two-match draw streak. 

Given their calamitous away form this season, it's safe to say Clement's men have been excellent at home. They are currently on a four-match winning streak and have scored an impressive 13 goals during this run.

Aberdeen managed to escape defeat against Hearts thanks to Ross Doohan's heroics. Doohan saved a penalty in stoppage time to give his team a point in a goalless draw.

Despite that result, the Dons' still find themselves in a slump, as their winless run in the league has stretched to 11 games (D4, L7).

Jimmy Thelin's men wretched away form could be their downfall yet again. They've lost three consecutive matches without scoring a goal and are winless in seven.
