Tatjana Maria won the Queen's Club tournament on Sunday. Now the German heads to Nottingham for this grass court tournament and faces former Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova in round one. Here's our match prediction.

Maria had to win seven matches to win that WTA 500 tournament. That first grass court title win since 2018 has seen the German rise to 43rd in the live rankings. Another deep run would be needed if the 37-year-old is to be seeded at Wimbledon this year.

There's been one previous meeting between these players. Maria won that but it was on a hard court and played 17 years ago. The winner of this match will face either fifth seed Leylah Annie Fernandez (who Maria beat last week) or unseeded Suzan Lamens.

Petra Kvitova is a two-time Wimbledon champion with the title last won in 2014. The Czech has been struggling for consistency since returning to the WTA Tour after giving birth last year. In the live rankings, the Czech is 568th as she makes her way back up the rankings.
