The Oklahoma City Thunder will play host to the Denver Nuggets in Game 2 of their NBA Playoff series at Paycom Center on Wednesday night. The Nuggets clinched Game 1 and lead the series 1-0. Let’s get into the match prediction.

Like the Cavs and Celtics, the lengthy layoff between the first and second round of the Playoffs did not seem to help the Oklahoma City Thunder, who dropped Game 1 in this series 121-119 on Monday.

Despite another big performance by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of 33 points and 10 rebounds, and Alex Caruso adding 20 points, OKC were outscored 71-59 in the second half, which led to the defeat.

Uncharacteristically, the Thunder’s game management was questionable in Game 1. They led by nine with three minutes to go and opted to foul the Nuggets in the final 11 seconds to send the game into a free-throw scenario. 

Meanwhile, the Denver Nuggets only had two days between games, but they looked very good in the second half of Game 1, and Aaron Gordon drained the winning shot for a second time in the Playoffs. 

However, the standout performance once again came from Nikola Jokic, who finished with 42 points, 22 rebounds and six assists. Jamal Murray also continued his good form with 21 points. 

The one major area that the Nuggets will want to improve from Game 1, though, will be to take better care in possession as they committed 18 turnovers, while OKC got 12 steals.
