Norwich vs Watford Prediction & Betting Tips - Championship
by Daniel Ngulu | in Championship Prediction
Norwich City have secured promotion back to the Premier League despite losing on Saturday and will be looking to bounce back when they host automatic promotion contenders Watford in the 43rd round of matches. Table topping Norwich have hit 90 points and can’t finish below second, while second placed Watford are seeking to join them in the Premier League, and need nine points on top of the 82 they’ve managed so far. Norwich will be crowned Championship winners with a win here but they should expect a tough game from Watford who have all to gain from this game. They are coming from a 3-1 loss to another promotion seeking team, Bournemouth – their first loss in 14 matches, within which they managed 11 wins. Fatigue has been creeping in at Norwich lately and it can be deduced from the lesser goals scored. Save for the 7-0 thrashing of Huddersfield, they’ve struggled to score, hitting more than a goal per game in just one of the last five matches. They’ve however lost only one game in the last 20 at home in all competitions. In this game they’ll be without defender Dimitris Giannoulis who was sent off against Bournemouth.
Watford’s 1-0 loss to rivals Luton Town was their first in nine Championship matches, within which they have seven wins. It really slowed their automatic promotion quest and now they need at least nine points from a possible 12 to secure that. They will go to the Norwich game without Spanish defender Kiko Femenia, who was sent off late against Luton but will look to bounce back against a Norwich side only playing for top spot. Just like Norwich, a long tough season has taken a toll on Watford, and they haven’t been scoring a lot lately too. In the last four matches, they’ve managed more than a goal in just one, though they have kept three clean sheets in the last five matches. This has resulted in low scoring matches, the last four, all yielding under 2.5 goals. They have no win in the last two away matches and have conceded in six straight away matches.

Our Norwich vs Watford Prediction
It has been a long season for these two sides; for Norwich, the target is achieved. Watford still have a few matches to confirm their fate, and thus are expected to show more hunger here. Norwich’s sluggishness was seen in their game against Bournemouth, having sealed promotion even before kick-off, and we don’t expect it different here. This game means more to Watford so we expect them to give more. Back the away team for a win.
