Nigeria are only ranked 42nd in the world and only Puerto Rico were ranked lower in this tournament. Their only previous World Cup finals appearance saw them finish last losing all their games but it's been a different story this time. They lost to eventual group winners Australia in their opening match but then shocked Turkey who are ranked seventh in the world and then got a win over Argentina to reach the first knock-out stage for the first time ever.

Greece are ranked 20th in the world and had a tough time in their first two group matches losing by 31 points to Canada. They got much closer to France but still lost by four points and had to get past 15th ranked South Korea to qualify in third place thanks to a dominant third quarter performance. Nigeria have the momentum coming into this match after two big wins and they can win this to qualify for the last eight where defending champions USA await them.
