The all-important Playoff Round in the Europa League is set to get underway this week with Molde and Elfsborg facing off in leg one at Aker Stadion on Thursday evening. The winner of this tie will advance to the main draw while the losers will be transferred to the Conference League league phase. Here’s our first-leg match prediction.

Molde secured their spot in this final qualification round by beating Cerle Brugge 3-1 in the third qualifying round. They secured a 3-0 lead in the home leg which was good enough to see them through despite losing the second leg 1-0.

The hosts have won both their home games during these qualifiers, scoring three goals in each. 

Meanwhile, Elfsborg booked their place in this round by beating Rijeka 3-1 on aggregate in the third qualifying round. They played out a 1-1 draw on the road before running out 2-0 winners in their home leg a week later.
