by Ian John | in Premier League Prediction
Manchester United host Everton in the early game on Saturday (kick off 12.30pm) with both teams in desperate need of the points, but for different reasons. United come into the game on the back of two straight defeats in the League including last weekend's 3-1 loss in the Manchester derby. They lie 6th in the table. Everton have not won any of their last nine Premier League games, but having had their 10-point deduction cut to six, they now lie 16th in the table after last weekend's 1-3 home loss to West Ham.Limited Offer. Manchester United - Everton: Form Analysis
Manchester United head into the game with Everton having seen a seven game unbeaten run in all competitions ended with two consecutive defeats in the league, sandwiched between an FA Cup win over Nottingham Forest. The home loss to Fulham (1-2) was followed by a 3-1 defeat to Manchester City last weekend, although they did beat Forest 1-0 in the FA Cup 5th Round to earn the right to host Liverpool in the quarter finals next weekend. Erik Ten Hag's team do have a good recent record against Everton and despite those two league defeats, they remain sixth in the table on 44 points from 27 games. However, they are six points behind Spurs (who also have a game in hand) and a massive 11 points behind Aston Villa who lie fourth in the table.
Everton's run of nine games without a win would have been far worse had the Toffees not had their 10-point deduction reduced down to 6 on appeal. That means those four extra points moves them from 21 points, just one point outside the relegation places, to 25 points, five points clear and one place higher in the table in 16th. Sean Dyche's team have not lost too many of those nine games. Two defeats to Manchester City apart, the only other teams they have lost to were Tottenham and last weekend to West Ham. Their remaining matches have all been drawn. Defensively Everton are solid, their 37 goals conceded matches fourth-placed Aston Villa and is better than every other team outside the top four. However, with just 29 goals scored, the third fewest in the Premier League, it is easy to see where their issues have been this season.

Manchester United & Everton Squad Analysis
Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag has a number of players that are out, or doubtful, for the game with Everton at the weekend. Definitely out are Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia, Lisandro Martinez, Harry Maguire, Mason Mount, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Anthony Martial. Also rated as a major doubt is Rasmus Hojlund, although the Danish striker is believed to be close to a return. Back up keeper Tom Heaton could be fit for a place on the bench. Jonny Evans and Marcus Rashford had to be substituted against Man City last week, and while Evans remains a doubt, Rashford did train in midweek and should be fit for the game on Saturday. Red Devils winger Alejandro Garnacho could be the man to watch on Saturday after he scored an incredible overhead kick in the return game at Goodison Park earlier in the season.
Sean Dyche's injury concerns are not as numerous as his Old Trafford counterpart. The Everton boss will be without three players for the game on Saturday. Dele Alli remains absent with a groin injury, while Idrissa Gueye remains sidelined with a similar complaint. On-loan winger Arnaut Danjuma will also be absent for the Toffees as he battles an ankle injury. Everton's top players this season have been defenders with centre back duo Jarrad Branthwaite and James Tarkowski standing out as a formidable pairing at the heart of the Everton defence.
