Manchester City vs Newcastle Prediction & Betting Tips - FA Cup

Manchester City face Newcastle in the FA Cup Quarterfinals at the Etihad this weekend, in what will be their fourth meeting this season. City did the double over the Magpies in the league, but Newcastle eliminated City in the Carabao Cup, winning 1-0 at St James' Park back in September. It is fair to say that both teams' fortunes have changed since then. Manchester City are on an incredible 21-game unbeaten run, during which they have won the FIFA Club World Cup as well as cementing 3rd place in the League table, a point behind Arsenal and Liverpool who lie above them. City drew 1-1 at Anfield ahead of this game, but they did have a free week in midweek having already qualified for the Champions League Quarter Finals by beating Copenhagen the week before. Unsurprisingly, Pep Guardiola's team start this game as the massive favourites to progress to a Wembley semi-final. 

Eddie Howe's Newcastle will be hoping that lightning can strike twice in the domestic cup competitions this season. In all three games with City this season, Newcastle have been in it right until the end of the game, but what is notable is that the Magpies have just the 14th best record in the Premier League this season away from home. That is usually nowhere near good enough to get something from a trip to the Etihad to face the current Treble winners. Eddie Howe's team lost their last two away games at Arsenal (4-1) and at Chelsea (3-2) on Monday Night and with just three wins in the league in their last 11 games, losing six of those matches, it looks a huge ask for the visitors to end City's hopes of another treble with a win here.
