Saturday’s Premier League schedule brings us a mouthwatering matchup, as Manchester City look to continue their mission to march back to the summit when they host Merseyside rivals Everton. The Citizens are in fifth place in the league standings, while the Toffees are eighth after seven league games. Check out our match prediction below!
With Arsenal, Liverpool and Spurs all carded to play later in the weekend, Pep Guardiola’s side have a chance to draw first blood upon returning from the international break. A victory here can take the Sky Blues into the top two, and with some luck in results elsewhere, they could even end the weekend in pole position.
David Moyes’ side have also made a positive start to the season, and three points could bump them up into the top four. However, they have not beaten City in a league match since January 2017 and enter this fixture as massive underdogs. Pedigree faces persistence in this one - Let’s get into the key stats!

Manchester City - Everton: Form Analysis
Manchester City have dominated this fixture in recent years, now unbeaten in their last 16 league games against this opponent (W13 D3) as well as their last 14 here at the Etihad Stadium.
The Citizens went into the October international break off the back of a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Brentford and are now unbeaten in their last seven matches across all competitions (W5 D2).
The hosts lost their first home league game this season, but they have reeled off three wins in a row since then across all competitions, scoring 10 goals and conceding just once during this win streak.
Man City have averaged more points per 90 in the Prem in 2025 than any other side (2.04)!
Meanwhile, Everton have enjoyed a significant improvement since David Moyes' return. They have won six of their last 10 top-flight matches, which is the same number of wins they recorded in their 27 preceding league games.
The Toffees ended Crystal Palace’s 19-match unbeaten run with a 2-1 victory before the international break. They have only conceded seven goals this season - the fourth-fewest in the Prem to date.
Notably, though, the visitors have lost three of their four away league games this season (W1), and five of the seven goals they have conceded this term have come on their travels.

Manchester City & Everton Squad Analysis
Guardiola was handed a few major injury boosts over the international break, with Omar Marmoush, Abdukodir Khusanov and Rayan Ait-Nouri returning to training, and all three players are in contention for this weekend.
However, Rodri is expected to sit out this match after sustaining an ankle injury against Brentford. Reports suggest that he should be available for the trip to Villa Park next week.
Erling Haaland has been in scintillating form this season, already on nine goals and an assist in seven league games. After bagging a hat-trick in Norway’s 5-0 victory over Israel, he was sent back to Manchester early from international duty and will be well-rested for this clash.
Jack Grealish will not feature for Everton this week!
Indeed, the England international is ineligible to face his parent club this weekend, which will be a huge blow for the visitors, given how influential he has been for them this season (1 goal, 4 assists).
However, on a more positive note, Moyes will be able to welcome Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall back to the starting lineup after he was forced to miss out on the victory over Palace due to suspension.
Defensive duo Michael Keane and Jarrad Branthwaite are still sidelined for the foreseeable future through injury, but Merlin Rohl is reportedly back to full fitness and could feature in some capacity this weekend.

Our Manchester City vs Everton Prediction
Manchester City have started this season much better than last term, and it’s difficult to bet against them here, given that they have not been beaten by this opponent in 16 league matches, dating back to 2017.
Everton have been a much-improved side under David Moyes, but the Etihad has not been a happy hunting ground for the Merseysiders, and their task is made all the more difficult with their chief playmaker, Jack Grealish, forced to sit this one out. Our Manchester City vs Everton prediction is Manchester City wins & over 1.5.

Erling Haaland to score anytime
The Norwegian has been firing on all cylinders this season, already on nine goals in seven league games, and 12 in six for his national team. Haaland netted a hat-trick for Norway last week, and we feel he will get on the scoresheet in this one as well.
