A fourth straight appearance in the US Open fourth round awaits for Cori Gauff, but only if she can overcome Magdalena Frech. The duo meets for the third time, and the winner will get to face Daria Kasatkina or Naomi Osaka next. Read on for our prediction of this match.

Frech staged an impressive comeback to shock Peyton Stearns in the last round and another American awaits. This one will be tougher as the Pole looks to improve on her 12-21 record.

Frech reached the third round at the Australian Open but has a poor run at the stage, at 1-3. She’s already surpassed her best performance at the US Open though, and comes here placed 30th in the live rank.

Cori Gauff will be a tougher American for Frech. She comes here with a 2-0 lead in head-to-head numbers and is a former winner at the US Open.

Gauff is looking to add to her 2023 triumph here and after shaky recent weeks, things look more stable. She managed a straight-set win against Donna Vekic in the last round.

That was her first win in straight sets in three matches. She’s only managed such a win in three of her last 10 completed matches. Even so, Gauff will still come here as the favorite and has improved to 37-12 in the season. Gauff is second in the live rank.
