Liverpool host Brighton on Sunday as the Premier League returns following the international break (2pm kick off). The home side come into this game on the back of a sobering 4-3 defeat in the FA Cup Quarterfinal at Manchester United, conceding a last minute goal in extra time to their fierce rivals in what was just their third domestic defeat of the season. Jurgen Klopp's team sit second in the table at present, level on points with Arsenal but with a poorer goal difference (+39 to +46) and they are just a point ahead of Manchester City. However, with City facing Arsenal in the game after this, the Reds can go top of the table with a draw or win here. Liverpool have won four and drawn one of their last five Premier League games, but will be wary of Brighton having beaten the Seagulls just once in their last eight attempts.

Brighton boss Roberto de Zerbi has been linked with the managerial role at Anfield in recent months but he will be focused on continuing his team's excellent recent record over Liverpool. Goals though have been a problem for the Seagulls of late. Since a 5-0 away win over Sheffield United, in the six games since they have scored just three goals, winning two matches, losing three and drawing one. It is their away form that has been the main problem this season with just 15 points taken on the road from their 14 games and they have won just one of their last five road games, losing three. Seven of their eight defeats this season have come on the road too and they face a Liverpool team unbeaten at Anfield this season.
