Premier League champions Liverpool begin the defence of their title, They kick off the new season with a home game at Anfield against Bournemouth. Can the Reds get their season off to the perfect start? Read our match prediction below.
Liverpool won the title by ten points last season. It could have been more but they took their foot off the gas and only earned two points from their final four fixtures. It's been an emotional time at the club since then with the problems at the victory parade and tragic death of Diogo Jota. Liverpool have also been very busy in the transfer window as they bid to further strengthen their title winning squad.
Bournemouth finished ninth in last season's Premier League and that equalled their best ever finish in the table. They've also had an eventful transfer window and have especially been busy transferring their best defenders to other clubs, including Kerkez joining their opponents in this match. New signings have been made and they will again be looking to push for European qualification.

Liverpool have won five successive games against Bournemouth.
The Reds have since gone 17 league games without defeat at Anfield, though the last two against Arsenal and Crystal Palace were both drawn. Last season produced a 3-0 win at Anfield.

Liverpool & Bournemouth Squad Analysis
Liverpool don't have the easiest of starts to the new Premier League season. After this game, they travel to Newcastle and then host Arsenal. They will want to begin their title defence with three points against Bournemouth.
Absentees will include the suspended Ryan Gravenberch with Joe Gomez and Conor Bradley both doubtful. In the Community Shield, Curtis Jones had a 100% success rate for passes. He's likely to lose his place in midfield to Alexis Mac Allister is expected to start.
It's going to be a tough time for Bournemouth therefore with Liverpool likely to dominate the midfield and create chances aplenty for their strikers.
Plenty of Premier League debutants on show.
The summer has seen several changes at Anfield with some major departures and some big money signings with more likely to be on the way. Wirtz and Ekitike.will make their Premier League debuts along with former Bournemouth defender Milo Kerkez.
Bournemouth are hopeful that Luis Sinisterra will have recovered from a thigh injury to play in this season opener. They have several injury worries with Justin Kluivert among those doubtful and unlikely to feature. He will be greatly missed after scoring several key goals last season.
The Cherries have been receiving high transfer fees for their best defenders but also made some good signings. It will be interesting to see how they get on, especially at the back against the champions. Debutant goalie Djordje Petrovic will have a busy night.

Our Liverpool vs Bournemouth Prediction
Bournemouth are still waiting for their first ever win at Anfield. That wait looks like continuing after a less than impressive pre-season for the Cherries. They also struggled in their final away league games of last season's Premier League. With injuries and key players sold, it might be a difficult season ahead.
Liverpool have made several key signings but had some departures too. Just imagine how strong they might be if Isak does join them! They are unbeaten in their last 17 home league games and a good start looks likely. Our main Liverpool v Bournemouth prediction is Liverpool to lead at half and full time.
