RB Leipzig will resume domestic action with a home game against Darmstadt in the Bundesliga this Saturday. Being a point below the top four, Leipzig will be keen on three points against bottom side Darmstadt. Coming into this game, the hosts suffered elimination from the Champions League at the hands of Real Madrid. While they did well to draw 1-1 in Spain, Willi Orban’s equalizer wasn’t enough, Leipzig having lost 1-0 at home. With the Champions League elimination, Leipzig can now only play for a top four finish. After 24 matches, they’ve collected 43 points, trailing fourth placed Dortmund by a point. Their route back to the second tier seems drawn out and it will take a great effort to salvage things at this stage. They suffered a 3-1 home loss to Leipzig in the reverse fixture in October. It is only survival that Darmstadt can play for now but their recent form is seriously poor. They haven't managed a win in their last 17 league matches and their German Cup campaign ended at the first hurdle.
