Arguably, the pick of the matches in Serie A this weekend will see Lazio facing off against Inter Milan on Sunday evening. The Stadio Olimpico will be the venue for the encounter, and the hosts will come into it in tenth place while the visitors lead the league standings. After earning the silver medal in the league last season, Lazio have struggled to maintain that level of performance this term. They have managed just 21 points in 15 games and are already trailing the top two this season by 15 points. However, while their Serie A form has not been great, Lazio did secure a place in the round of 16 in the Champions League, finishing second in their group behind Atletico Madrid. The White and Sky Blues played out a disappointing 1-1 draw to Verona in their last league outing, taking their recent record to just one win in their last five games, along with two draws and two losses. Lazio were unbeaten in their last six home games but are the outsiders in this one, according to the bookies. 

Meanwhile, Inter Milan are having an excellent 2023-24 season. They are in pole position in the league with a two-point advantage over Juventus, reaching the midway points of the campaign. They also booked their place in the knockout stages of the Champions League in midweek and ended level on 12 points with Real Sociedad at the top of Group D.  Inter won their last league match 4-0 against Udinese last week and with that result, they are now unbeaten in nine consecutive league games, including seven wins and two draws. Nerazzurri have lost only one league game this season, and that was against Sassuolo back in September. Notably, the visitors are unbeaten in away matches this season and have kept five clean sheets in their seven league outings. Inter won the last encounter 3-1 last season and are strongly backed to pull off another victory in this one.
