Katsina United suffered their second straight defeat last week, losing 1-0 to eight-time champions Enugu Rangers. Midfielder Azeez Falolu's 73rd-minute strike proved decisive in the fiercely contested clash at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium.
The loss in Enugu marked Katsina United's third defeat in their last four league matches. Remo Stars bounced back in their last match, defeating Wikki Tourist 2-0 after falling by the same scoreline to Abia Warriors in the preceding fixture. So far, the defending champions have made a less-than-impressive start to their Nigerian top flight campaign.
They are marooned in mid-table with 10 points from three wins, a draw and two defeats. Additionally, the Sky Blue Stars have lost their last two away NPFL matches, including all five of their away visits to Katsina United.
