The final first-round clash at the Nordic Darts Masters will see Jonny Clayton taking on Darius Labanauskas on Friday night. The Ferret is the number-five-ranked player in the world, while Lucky D is ranked 97th. Let’s get into the match prediction. 

Jonny Clayton is set to make his World Series return this week and will be determined to make his mark after missing out on qualifying for the Premier League this season. 

The Ferret has been in excellent form of late, having reached the semi-final of the European  Tour 8 over the weekend following victory at the European  Tour 7 a week earlier. 

Clayton has racked up eight wins in his last 10 matches across all competitions, and has only suffered defeat in six of his last 30 since the Players Championship 12 at the start of April. 

Meanwhile, Darius Labanauskas’s last match ended in a heavy defeat to world number 31 Dirk van Duijvenbode at the Players Championship 16, where he failed to win a single leg. 

However, Lucky D does still have a positive record coming into this competition, with six wins in his last 10 matches, which included a 6-3 victory over Gian van Veen last month. 

Clayton and Labanauskas have met five times in the past, with the Lithuanian winning three of those matches, though the last time they faced off was in April 2022.
