Greece bid to reach the United Cup semi-finals for the second time when taking on Germany. The winner of this last eight tie will face host nation Australia who beat Serbia (including Novak Djokovic) in their quarter final. The Greeks made their way into the last eight by winning Group B but didn't have it all their own way. They began with Maria Sakkari only dropping one game against lowly-ranked Daniela Seguel. Chile fought back well though with Nicolas Jarry defeating Stefanos Sakellandis (playing instead of Tsitsipas) in three sets and then winning the mixed doubles in which Tsitsipas did play. Their second match had to be won and they triumphed 3-0 against Canada. Tsitsipas did play the singles this time and all three of their matches were won in straight sets.

Germany will rely a great deal on world number seven Alexander Zverev. He won both of his singles matches in Group D but needed three sets to get a win against both Lorenzo Sonego and Adrian Mannarino. We're likely to see him face Stefanos Tsitsipas in this quarter final and that's a match that could go either way. The Greek does have a good record against Zverev and is 9-4 up in previous meetings including three of the last four. The other singles match is scheduled to be Sakkari taking on Angelique Kerber. The German has lost both of her singles so far and one mixed doubles match. We believe Greece can win this match especially as their mixed doubles line-up of Tsitsipas and Sakkari looks stronger than Germany's.
