Match two in the first round of the Nordic Darts Masters will see Gerwyn Price taking on Cor Dekker on Friday evening. The Iceman is ranked 11th in the world, while The Sheriff is ranked 133rd. Let’s get into the match prediction.

Gerwyn Price will be returning to the oche for the first time since losing to Luke Littler 10-7 in the semi-final of the Premier League Playoffs on May 29 at the O2 Arena.

The Iceman locked up his Playoff spot with three weeks to spare, but ended the competition poorly, losing his final four games. He also had the second-worst checkout rate at 38.06%. 

Price now has a record of 10 wins and 10 defeats in his last 20 matches since mid-April. However, as the odds suggest, the Welshman should make light work of this opponent, even if not at his best. 

Meanwhile, Cor Dekker last featured at the PC16 competition and bowed out in the first round to world number 69 Chris Landman with a 6-5 scoreline. 

That result marked the Sheriff’s seventh straight first-round elimination, while he has only won two of his last 15 matches across all competitions. 

Dekker and Price have never met in a competitive match in the past, but the Norwegian will know that he is in for a very tough outing this weekend.
