Freiburg vs West Ham Prediction & Betting Tips - Europa League

West Ham United will once again face SC Freiburg in the Europa League this season, only this time the two games will decide who makes it through to the quarterfinals. The Hammers finished top of Group A in the Group Stages, winning five of their six games, including doing the double over tonight's opponents, winning 2-0 in London and 2-1 in Germany. Those two defeats were Freiburg's only losses in the Group Stages of the tournamnt and they rattled in an impressive 17 goals in their six games. The German side came through their Playoff game drawing 0-0 in France against RC Lens before earning a dramatic 3-2 win in the home leg, coming from 0-2 down at half time to claim a 3-2 win in extra time. Freiburg currently lie 9th in the Bundesliga on 30 points, but their recent form hasn't been great and they are without a win in five in the league heading into this game. That said, they did earn a 2-2 draw with Bayern Munich at the weekend. 

In contrast, West Ham seem to have come through a miserable spell of three Premier League defeats in a row, winning their next two games in style. A 4-2 home win against Brentford was followed at the weekend by a 3-1 win at Everton, in which the Hammers scored two goals in injury time to secure the win against manager David Moyes' former team. Those six points moved the Hammers up to 7th in the table, moving just two points behind Manchester United. The Hammers have a solid home record, losing three of just 13 games in the Premier League and winning all of their three Europa League games at the London Stadium. Goals have been plentiful in recent West Ham games, with 21 goals scored in the last six Hammers matches. Unfortunately West Ham only scored seven of those goals and they all came in the Hammers last two Premier League matches.
