The 2025 Women's World Handball Championships are down to the semi-finals. Hosts Germany take on defending champions France in this semi-final. The winners will take on either Norway or the Netherlands in the final. Read our match prediction below.
Germany have reached the semi-finals for the first time since 2007. They have been in excellent form in this tournament with all seven of their matches being won. They won their Preliminary Round group by two points from Serbia. Wins came against Iceland, Uruguay and Serbia.
That took them into the Main Round where the Faroe Islands, Montenegro were comfortably beaten. They clinched top place in their group with a 29-25 win over Spain. Tuesday's quarter-final saw them defeat Brazil 30-23, their 11th consecutive victory.
France are the defending world champions and won the silver medal in last year's Olympics. Before these championships got underway, France had not lost a match all year. That run continued in the Preliminary Round with impressive wins over Tunisia, China and Poland.
At least 40 goals were scored in each of those wins. In the Main Round, they beat Austria and Italy but then lost to the Netherlands 26-23 to finish second in their group. The last eight saw them beat Denmark 31-26.
