Formula 1 heads to the Circuit de Monaco this weekend for the Monaco Grand Prix on Sunday afternoon. Oscar Piastri leads the driver standings with 146 points, ahead of McLaren teammate Lando Norris on 133 points and Max Verstappen in third with 124 points. Let’s get into the race prediction.
After being forced to follow home the Red Bull of Max Verstappen last weekend, McLaren’s Lando Norris looks like the one to beat in Monaco after an excellent final qualifying session.
Hometown hero Charles Leclerc led every practice session up to the final one, where he was edged by the Brit by 0.109s. Norris recorded a new track record of 1m09.954s.
The major disappointment during qualifying was the reigning champ, who will start from P5 behind Piastri and Lewis Hamilton, respectively. May be worth keeping an eye on the Ferrari duo this week.
Isack Hadjar produced arguably his best qualifying session to date, finishing as the top rookie in P6, with Fernando Alonso, Esteban Ocon, Liam Lawson and Alex Albon rounding out P7 through P10.
Mercedes had a nightmare qualifying, with Andrea Kimi Antonelli hitting the wall to bring out a red flag, while George Russell reported a loss of power before stalling.
The Mercedes duo will start from 14th (Russell) and 15th (Antonelli).

Ferrari looked at home during qualifying, and Carlos Sainz is certainly one to keep an eye on here, at home, and in a car looking comfortable on a tricky Monaco track.
However, we’ve been saying all season that McLaren have built a rocketship and Lando Norris looks to be finding his best in the last few weeks. The Brit smashed the lap record in qualifying, and we feel he will claim the top step on Sunday. Our Monaco Grand Prix prediction is Lando Norris wins the Monaco Grand Prix.
