Austrian Grand Prix Predictions & Betting tips - Formule 1
by Devesh Jaganath |
Formula 1 heads to the Red Bull Circuit for the Austrian Grand Prix on Sunday. Oscar Piastri leads the driver standings with 198 points, followed by teammate Lando Norris in second with 176, and Max Verstappen in third with 155 points. Check out our race prediction below.
It was an eventful qualifying session at the Red Bull Circuit - not only did Lewis Hamilton run wide at the final corner, but we also saw a fire break out, causing the session to be delayed.
However, after qualifying resumed, Lando Norris surged to a commanding pole for the Austrian Grand Prix, finishing half a second clear of Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc - the biggest pole margin of the season.
Driver championship leader Oscar Piastri only managed P3, owing in part to a yellow flag that was shown in the final moments of the session following a spin out by Pierre Gasly.
Hamilton recovered from his early error to clinch fourth, while his compatriot George Russell was unable to follow up on his Canadian Grand Prix heroics, only managing P5.
Arguably, the drive of the day came from young Liam Lawson in P6, ahead of defending champion Max Verstappen, who, like Piastri, was hindered by a yellow flag late on.
Rookie Gabriel Bortoleto had his best drive for Sauber, cracking the top eight, while Kimi Antonelli and Gasly round out P9 and P10, respectively.

Our Austrian Grand Prix - Formule 1 prediction
With the Red Bull Circuit featuring the fewest corners of any track on the F1 calendar, it is difficult to see anyone being able to challenge the pace of the Papaya duo of Piastri and Norris this weekend.
However, assuming the McLarens pull away without issue, the race for the final step on the podium will be wide open, and we fancy that the Red Bull of Max Verstappen will be able to navigate by those ahead to claim it. Our Austrian Grand Prix prediction is Max Verstappen podium finish.
