Finland will take on Italy in their final Group B game in the Men’s Ice Hockey at the Winter Olympics. Before we make our prediction, let’s break down this contest.
The Finns will have been very disappointed with their opening effort in the games, getting beaten 1-4 by Slovakia. They outshot their oppoennts but it was not enough to see them get close to getting the job done.
They took that frustration out on Sweden, running into a quick 2-0 lead on Friday morning before picking up a 4-1 win. That was a hugely impressive effort.
Italy have proven a tougher team to beat than most would have expected. Sweden took a long time to shake them off in their opening game and then they were able to really push Slovakia all the way on Friday, losing 2-3.
This is another tough task for them but the home crowd at these games behind them has made them into more of a force and the crowd are going to have to play an important role again now.
