Felix Auger-Aliassime is coming off a four-set victory over third seed and former Flushing Meadows finalist Alexander Zverev. The Canadian battled his way from a first-set loss to defeat the German, who has a dominant record in their past duels.

Now he faces another opponent who has overpowered him in the past more often than he would have liked. Auger-Aliassime, who has lost just one set in New York, has won just once against Rublev.

That win came on his way to lifting the 2022 Rotterdam Open. Making the fourth round has moved the former top 10 player to 23rd in the live ranking.

Andrey Rublev has defeated Auger-Aliassime seven times previously and is on a six-match winning run in this series. He won their most recent showdown on clay in Hamburg in May.

With this dominance, the Russian, who has made four quarter-final appearances in New York, arrives as the favorite to win. Rublev has had a shaky campaign at Flushing Meadows and is coming off a five-set showdown with qualifier Coleman Wong.
