Everton will be looking to continue their good run of form in the Premier League when they take on Chelsea at Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon. The hosts are currently in 17th place in the league standings, while the visitors are tenth. Despite being docked ten points for breaching the Premier League's financial rules, Everton will come into this match brimming with confidence. The Toffees put on an excellent second-half showing in midweek to beat top-half opponents Newcastle United 3-0 at this venue. That result was not only their second win on the bounce but also saw them move out of the relegation zone, one point clear of Luton Town, who are the first side below the dotted line. It is worth noting that had it not been for their points deduction, Everton would be in the top half of the league table and a point above Chelsea. The Toffees have also taken seven points from their last four home games, losing only to Manchester United in that time. While the bookies make them the underdogs here, the hosts are certainly not out of this contest. 

Meanwhile, Chelsea have struggled to put a run of good results together again this season. They are down in tenth place with 19 points after 15 matches and are already eight points behind the top five teams on the log. The Blues suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Manchester United in midweek, which was their second consecutive away loss following a 4-1 defeat against Newcastle United. Over the course of the season, Chelsea have a record of five wins, four draws and six losses, with only one of those victories coming in their last four outings. Notably, games involving The Blues have been high-scoring affairs of late, with four of their last five matches ending with five or more goals scored. In addition, each of their last four away matches have produced at least three goals. The last match between these sides ended 2-2 at Stamford Bridge last season, and it would not be surprising if we saw another goal fest in this one.
