Both of these countries have lost their opening two games in the 2025 World Women's Handball Championship preliminary round. The Czech Republic are third in Group G and face bottom-placed Cuba. Read our match prediction below.
The top three in Group G go into the Main Round with the fourth-placed side going into the President's Cup. Leaders Sweden and second-placed Brazil have both progressed to the next stage.
The Czech Republic began their campaign with a 31-23 defeat to Sweden, losing both halves by a four-goal margin. They followed that up with a disappointing loss to Brazil. That match was lost by six goals but they led by three at the break.
A win over Cuba in this final group fixture will see the Czechs qualify. They are the hot favorites to do so as Cuba have been in poor form so far in these world championships. Cuba lost 41-20 to Brazil in their first group match, despite only trailing by five at half-time.
The weekend saw Cuba suffer another heavy defeat, losing 46-17 to Sweden with 25 goals conceded in the first half of the match. A win will see them go into the Main Round but we believe the Czechs will win on a -18.5 handicap.
