Game 2 of the NBA Playoff series between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Indiana Pacers will get underway at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse on Tuesday night. The Pacers beat the Cavs in Game 1 to take a 1-0 lead in the series. Let’s get into the match prediction. 

After making light work of the Miami Heat by sweeping the first-round series, the Cleveland Cavaliers suffered their first defeat of the Playoffs, losing Game 1 on Sunday, 121-112. 

Despite Donovan Mitchell breaking Michael Jordan’s record by scoring 30+ points in eight consecutive Playoff series openers, it was not enough to keep up with the pacey Pacers. 

There were two major contributors to Cleveland’s loss. The first was their poor shot conversion from deep (nine of 38), while the second was the absence of Darius Garland, who missed a third straight game through injury.

Meanwhile, the Indiana Pacers delivered another solid team performance in Game 1, with all five of their starters ending in double-digits and Bennedict Mathurin adding 11 points off the bench. 

However, the star of the show was once again Tyrese Haliburton, who scored 22 points and 13 assists while leading the Pacers’ high tempo in transition. He also made several crucial shots in the second half after Cleveland went on a 20-4 run. 

Notably, despite the defensive prowess of Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen, Indiana matched the Cavs in rebounding and defended the three-point line very well, while draining 19 of 36 from range themselves.
