The Frenchwoman has won both times she has been paired up against Danilovic. This should boost her confidence as she seeks to put an end to her recent struggles. Olga Danilovic has fared much better than Burel coming into this match. The issue with this is that she has competed outside the tour. And when she has participated in the top tier, she has struggled. Danilovic is making her main draw tour debut this season. She lost in qualifying in Australia and Linz but this wasn’t the case here. Her two qualifying wins have allowed her to also make her main draw debut in Madrid. She won both matches without dropping a set. Danilovic defeated Jule Niemeier by the loss of eight games in her final qualifier. The win improved her record to 8-7 with seven of those coming on clay. She has now moved up eight places to 114th in the live ranking.
