China and South Korea will lock horns in the Women's team semi-final table tennis competition at the 2024 Paris Olympics on Thursday. China are the number-one seed, while South Korea are seeded third. Check out our match prediction below.
China are back in the semi-final at the Olympics after securing a commanding 3-0 win over the Chinese Taipei in the quarters on Wednesday.
Chen Meng and Wang Manyu were sensational off the bat and stormed to a 3-0 win over Chen Szu-Yu and Chien Tung-Chuan in the doubles.
Sun Yingsha, the world number one, then notched up a 3-0 victory over Cheng I-Ching and Wang Manyu completed the rout with another 3-0 win over Chien Tung-Chuan.
The Chinese Women have not lost an official match since 2010.
Meanwhile, South Korea are a win away from guaranteeing they will earn their first medal at this event in 16 years. They got here after beating Sweden 3-0 in the quarter-final and Brazil 3-1 in the first round.
Shin Yu-bin and Jeon Ji-hee got the ball rolling with a 3-0 win over Filippa Bergand and Christina Kallberg in the doubles. Lee Eun-hye then extended the lead with a 3-1 victory over Linda Bergstrom.
Jeon Ji-hee completed the sweep with another 3-1 win over Kallberg, but this time in the final singles match. While the South Koreans have looked good in the competition, they face a huge task in trying to overcome the Chinese.
