Chelsea face Leicester City on Saturday in an FA Cup Quarterfinal tie, the first FA Cup match between the two since the 2021 FA Cup Final, which Leicester City won 1-0 at Wembley thanks to Youri Tielemans strike. Since then the Foxes have been relegated, but Chelsea, despite billions spent on players, have also underachieved hugely in the Premier League last season and have done so again this. A 3-2 win over Newcastle United on Monday night eased the pressure a little on Mauricio Pochettino but the Stamford Bridge faithful remain far from convinced that the ex-Spurts and PSG boss is the man to take the team forward to challenge the top teams in the EPL. In the FA Cup though, Chelsea have looked strong, winning 4-0 in the 3rd Round against Preston, and then drawing 0-0 at home with Aston Villa before winning 3-1 at Villa Park. They then beat Leeds 3-2 at Stamford Bridge to earn a shot at Leicester in the Quarterfinals.

Enzo Maresca has enjoyed a great start to his tenure as Leicester City manager, leading the Foxes to the top of the Championship table and also a place in the quarterfinals of the FA Cup. However, things have been more difficult of late with three straight defeats in the league, cutting their once huge lead at the top of the Championship down to just three points. In the FA Cup, Leicester have proved their quality in tough away games. They beat Millwall 3-2 in the Third Round at the New Den and Bournemouth 1-0 at the Vitality Stadium in the fifth round. Sandwiched in between was a 3-0 home win in the 4th Round over Birmingham City. The quality Leicester possess could give Chelsea a few problems in this game.
